For Indigo Express, the aim was to capture the rich contrasts of India while deliberately moving away from the visual clichés often associated with Indian restaurant branding. The result is a bold yet contemporary identity that reflects the country’s vibrant energy through a refined, modern lens.
The logo development focused on preserving the original typographic character, while extending it with the “EXPRESS” sub-system: inspired by the spontaneous, layered application of express postal consignment stickers.

Beyond their striking appearance, these elements are highly adaptable and work seamlessly across a wide range of applications — from spatial graphics to packaging and communication materials, ensuring a consistent yet dynamic brand presence. To reinforce this system, the identity is paired with the condensed cuts of Akzidenz Grotesk, a timeless typographic choice that adds rhythm, clarity, and a slightly editorial tone to the otherwise playful compositions.
The next phase focused on shaping the interior concept. The selected materials follow the same visual approach, pairing natural textures with vivid colors and bold accents. The space blends contemporary and traditional references through carefully curated wallpapers, lighting, frames, and tiles.
Posters and images merge modern photography with vintage Indian framing, creating a layered dialogue between past and present. This is further enhanced by a lush, plant-rich wallpaper inspired by the gardens of Jaipur, wrapping the space in deep green tones and adding a strong atmospheric layer.
The interior concept we developed as a scalable design system, seamlessly applied across multiple Indigo Express locations in Budapest, ensuring both consistency and spatial flexibility.
